interviewing.io's mock interviews with senior engineers start at $179 a session, and cost more for some subjects or for an interviewer from a specific company; its FAQ promises a full refund if you are unhappy with one. Its AI Interviewer is free. If $179 a session is more than you want to spend, the alternatives are coaching marketplaces such as IGotAnOffer, free peer mocks on Aced, and AI interviewers such as Devana and DevInterview.AI.
What interviewing.io costs

Its gift page, where you buy sessions for someone else, shows the same $179 and takes 10% off 4 or more. Its other prices are not on its public pages.

Who interviewing.io is best for
interviewing.io is best for paid sessions with human engineers, close to a real interview. Sessions are anonymous, with audio and chat in its own version of CoderPad but no video, and end with the interviewer's rundown of what to fix. Its FAQ says every interviewer has worked at FAANG or a similar company, has at least 4 years of experience and has run at least 20 interviews for such a company, then passed two trial interviews. You can ask for someone from the company you are interviewing with, and the FAQ adds that candidates who do well get access to its jobs portal and warm introductions to hiring decision-makers.
It suits a candidate with an onsite coming up who wants one or two calibrated reads. It suits daily practice less well: ten sessions at $179 come to $1,790, and you book a time rather than starting on the spot. The free AI Interviewer softens that for coding and system design.

They do different jobs, and many candidates use both. Choose interviewing.io when you want a person with hiring experience to tell you whether you would pass, ideally someone from the company you are interviewing with. Choose Devana for the volume of spoken practice that makes talking while you solve feel normal: the coding round runs your code while the interviewer asks about it, and the system design round scores how you scope, drive and defend a design. Devana cannot tell you how a particular company's hiring committee would decide; a human interviewer from that company can come closer.
How to choose
- An onsite in the next two weeks: one or two interviewing.io sessions, if the budget allows, with an interviewer from your target company.
- You want to pick your coach yourself: IGotAnOffer or Aced's coaching, which let you browse coaches before you book.
- No budget, and you want a person: Aced's free Basic plan, plus a friend who interviews candidates.
- You want to practice most days: an AI interviewer you can start at any hour. interviewing.io's own AI Interviewer is free; Devana and DevInterview.AI run by voice with code that runs.
- System design is the gap: study with Hello Interview, then rehearse it out loud with an AI or a human.

Is interviewing.io free?
Partly. Its AI Interviewer is free for coding and system design practice, along with over 200 problems from Beyond Cracking the Coding Interview. Sessions with human interviewers are paid, from $179.
Is interviewing.io worth it?
For one or two sessions close to an onsite, often yes: its interviewers are screened for experience at large tech companies, and you can ask for one from the company you are interviewing with. Can I get an interviewing.io interviewer from Google, Meta or Amazon?
Yes, according to its FAQ, which lists interviewers from Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, Stripe, Uber, Dropbox, Netflix, LinkedIn and Slack, among others. An interviewer from a specific company costs more than the $179 starting price.
